Deadly landslide near Three Gorges dam

A landslide near China's Three Gorges dam on Tuesday morning killed one person and left two missing, state media reported, citing local officials.

The landslide hit four workers constructing a railway in Badong county, the report said. One was killed and one was injured but in a "stable condition", while two others were missing.

Experts recently warned of an increased risk of landslides around the dam.

The report noted that landslides are "common in Badong county, which is sited on brittle terrain along the Yangtze River," but that the cause of this landslide was "unknown".
