Improper land use "hurts farmers’ interests and threatens social stability", China Daily quoted Gan Zangchun of the Ministry of Land and Resources as saying.
The report cited the "relentless unauthorised expansion of construction land, especially by local governments" as a major problem facing the country’s farmland.
