New ban to combat lake pollution

China’s State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) has banned an array of industrial projects involving the discharge of ammonia and phosphorus near major lake areas in an attempt to minimise pollution fed algae blooms. The move comes after SEPA found ‘rampant’ violation of existing environmental standards.
