Hong Kong urges eco-friendly cremation

Hong Kong 's government is seeking more environmentally friendly cremations, and will crack down on undertakers that flout pollution rules, reported The Standard on Thursday.
Liao Sau- tung, Hong Kong’s secretary for the environment, transport and works, told a Legislative Council meeting that coffins for cremation must meet environmental rules and undertakers that violate pollution regulations may risk having their licenses canceled.
Liao also urged undertakers to use paper "eco-coffins" when cremating unclaimed bodies.
