World concern about climate change rising, survey shows

Global concern about climate change has risen dramatically over the last six months and consumers increasingly expect their governments to combat the threat, according to a survey published on Tuesday.

The survey, published on World Environment Day by the Nielsen Company and Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute, found 42% of consumers around the world believe governments should restrict companies' emissions of carbon dioxide and other pollutants.
In India, 19% of respondents said they were worried about global warming, while 9% of China’s consumers said the issue was very important to them.
