Climate change has hit the American west, according to a new study in the journal Science that links an increased fire risk to global warming.
Fire threats, say the report, are becoming a norm and fires rage longer because of warmer temperatures and earlier snowmelts in mountainous areas.
The study echoes the findings of other recent reports, which show that floods, wildfires and the average intensity of tropical storms have increased across the globe.
